Con el inicio de julio comienza el segundo semestre, la mitad que discurre inevitablemente hacia el final del a\u00f1o. E inaugurando esta etapa del 2017, julio tambi\u00e9n es el mes de partida hacia la meta del mundo de los smartphones: el nuevo iPhone de Apple. Esta entrada celebrar\u00eda el d\u00e9cimo aniversario del smartphone m\u00e1s influyente de toda la industria con un dise\u00f1o renovado, quiz\u00e1 el m\u00e1s revolucionario desde su concepci\u00f3n original.<\/p>\n

Tanto es as\u00ed que montones de sensores y v\u00ednculos a la realidad virtual y realidad aumentada se hacen d\u00eda a d\u00eda con la intenci\u00f3n de adivinar qu\u00e9 est\u00e1 planeando Apple<\/strong><\/a> para su iPhone 8. De momento, fuentes que pidieron conservar su anonimato, se contactaron con Bloomberg para hacerles saber que Apple estaba trabajando en un sensor de detecci\u00f3n facial con reconocimiento de profundidades y en un chip dedicado exclusivamente a administrar realidad virtual.<\/p>\n

Una de las\u00a0features<\/em> m\u00e1s importantes en la nueva era de la tecnolog\u00eda son los sensores biom\u00e9tricos, su tiempo de respuesta y la seguridad que estos proveen. Las compa\u00f1\u00edas no solo buscan innovar para proveer mejores y m\u00e1s seguros servicios en estos casos, sino que tambi\u00e9n se ven forzados a mantener un grado de novedad que funcione de atractivo suficiente para elegir sus smartphones por sobre los de su competencia.<\/p>\n

Forzado por esta necesidad es que quiz\u00e1 Samsung no pudo resolver un sensor biom\u00e9trico de reconocimiento de iris que tuviera profundidad 3D o alg\u00fan tipo de soluci\u00f3n de software que le impidiera ser f\u00e1cilmente embaucado por una foto impresa de alto contraste<\/a>. Pero Apple parece estarse tomando este paso con calma.<\/p>\n

En los laboratorios de Apple no solo estar\u00edan incorporando el reconocimiento de iris a sus nuevos smartphones, sino que tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n intentando integrarlo a un reconocimiento facial completo que incluso pueda ejecutarse desde un smartphone en posici\u00f3n de reposo sobre una superficie plana. En adici\u00f3n, Apple estar\u00eda incorporando a estos sensores biom\u00e9tricos la capacidad de reconocer profundidad, haci\u00e9ndolos menos vulnerables a ser eludidos por fotograf\u00edas o tretas de igual \u00edndole.<\/p>\n

Ya en un estado mucho m\u00e1s primario de desarrollo pero que podr\u00eda ser algo que estemos viendo en otros dispositivos de Apple el a\u00f1o entrante, en la ciudad de Cupertino, California, parecen estar trabajando con prototipos con dos procesadores: el procesador corriente que esperar\u00edamos en un smartphone y otro enteramente dedicado a administrar tareas de reconocimiento biom\u00e9trico y tareas de realidad virtual o aumentada.
